Most people think of Plano as a modern suburban city — and they're right. But tucked into the older part of town is a historic downtown district with brick-paved streets, century-old storefronts, colorful murals, and vintage signage that photographs like something out of a small Southern town.

It's one of our favorite locations precisely because it surprises clients. We consistently hear "I had no idea this was here" — and the variety of backdrops within a walkable area means we can move through several distinct looks in a single session.

When to shoot downtown Plano

Late afternoon on a weekday is ideal — golden light hits the brick facades from the west and the streets are quieter than weekends. Weekend morning sessions work well before the restaurants and shops open up. We avoid midday due to harsh overhead light on the reflective surfaces.
