Terms of Service

These terms outline how booking, payment, and image delivery work with ShutterWide Photography ("we," "us," or "our"). By booking a session or submitting a retainer, you agree to the terms below.

Booking & retainer

A session or wedding date is only confirmed once a signed agreement and retainer (deposit) have been received. Dates are not held on a tentative basis — the first client to submit a retainer for a given date secures it.

Cancellations & rescheduling

We understand plans change. If you need to reschedule, contact us as early as possible and we'll do our best to find a new date. Retainers are generally non-refundable, as they hold your date and turn away other inquiries for that time — but a rescheduled session's retainer typically transfers to the new date at no extra cost. Cancellations made with little notice, especially for weddings, may not be refundable given the time and planning already committed.

Payment

The remaining balance is due before or on the day of your session unless otherwise agreed in writing. We accept the payment methods listed in your booking agreement.

Image delivery

Turnaround times vary by session type and are noted in your package details (typically 2–4 weeks). Delivery is via a private online gallery with high-resolution download access.

Image usage & copyright

ShutterWide Photography retains copyright of all images. Clients receive a personal print release, meaning you're free to print, share, and post your images for personal, non-commercial use. We may also use images from your session for our portfolio, website, social media, and marketing — if you'd prefer we not do this for any specific images, just let us know and we're happy to honor that.

Liability

In the rare case of illness, emergency, or equipment failure that prevents us from completing a session, we will make every effort to arrange a replacement photographer or reschedule, and will refund any payment for services not rendered. Our liability is limited to the amount paid for the session.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date. Your specific booking agreement takes precedence over this general page where the two differ.
